These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern access to and use of the Kontab platform ("Service"), a software service owned and operated by Solèy Technologies Ltd. ("we", "us", or "our"), a company based in Saint Lucia.
By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
Kontab is a cloud-based accounting platform designed to assist businesses in:
The Service is a tool for managing financial information and does not constitute accounting, legal, or tax advice.
You must:
You are responsible for all activity conducted under your account.
New users may begin with a free 30-day trial of the Professional plan. The trial does not require a payment method, does not automatically convert to a paid subscription, and does not place charges on an account by itself. A paid subscription begins only when you complete paid checkout with our authorized payment provider and any required payment step succeeds under that provider's process. Where a paid subscription is active, applicable fees, billing period, and renewal terms are those confirmed at checkout and in account or portal communications. Pricing is subject to change with 30 days' notice for active paid subscribers.
After you complete paid checkout and a paid subscription is active, access to certain features is determined by your subscription plan and system configuration.
During the trial period described above, feature availability is governed by system rules and these Terms. When the trial ends without a completed paid checkout, you do not have an active paid subscription unless and until you complete checkout; your access to features may change in line with the plan or access tier that applies at that time.
Paid subscriptions renew for successive billing periods unless you cancel before the renewal date in accordance with the cancellation process made available to you (for example through your billing portal or as we describe in your account). Cancellation stops future renewals; you keep access through the end of the billing period you have already paid for, unless stated otherwise in our Refund Policy.
If a renewal payment fails or your account is not in good standing for continued paid access, we may downgrade your plan, restrict access to certain features or the Service, or take other reasonable account actions until payment is resolved, in addition to any rights we have under these Terms or applicable law.
User access may be subject to seat limits defined by your subscription. Invitations and user additions may be restricted accordingly.
Feature availability is enforced through system controls and entitlement checks. While designed for consistency, enforcement may vary depending on system state and configuration.
You agree to:
You are solely responsible for:
You retain ownership of all business and financial data you submit to the Service.
You grant us a limited license to process your data solely to:
The Service is designed to support proper accounting practices, including:
Not all system actions are immutable, and not all activities are comprehensively logged.
You must not:
We may suspend or terminate access for violations.
Authorized personnel of Solèy Technologies Ltd. may access systems and data where necessary for:
Administrative actions are controlled and may be logged for accountability.
We aim to provide a reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
System protections such as rate limiting and request controls may be applied as necessary.
The Service relies on third-party providers for infrastructure and functionality.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for failures of third-party services beyond our reasonable control. This does not limit our responsibility for our own service obligations under these Terms.
Payments for subscription transactions may be processed by Paddle (or another authorized payment provider) as merchant of record or payment reseller for the transaction. In that capacity, the payment provider may operate checkout, collect applicable taxes based on the buyer's location in accordance with its practices, issue receipts or tax documentation, appear on card or bank statements, and handle buyer-facing payment, refund, and cancellation steps in line with that provider's buyer terms and policies.
Paddle's buyer terms apply to the payment transaction together with these Terms, which govern your use of the Kontab software service. Solèy Technologies Ltd. remains the provider and operator of the Service; the payment provider facilitates payment, billing administration, and related compliance for eligible purchases as described in its documentation.
Applicable taxes may be calculated and collected by Paddle or another payment provider at checkout based on your location. Prices shown in-app may be exclusive of applicable taxes.
Payment card and related payment credentials are collected and processed by our payment provider. We do not hold your full card number on our own systems for checkout; what we receive is limited to what the provider shares for subscription and support purposes (for example tokens or transaction references as applicable).
Our Refund Policy, available at kontab.net/refund-policy, forms part of these Terms and sets out how refund requests are handled alongside any payment-provider processes that apply to the transaction.
If your subscription plan is downgraded, cancelled, expires, or otherwise changes to a lower tier, access to certain features may be restricted. Data and records created while a feature was available are retained and remain accessible in view-only mode where the feature is not included in your current plan. Continued creation or editing of records associated with restricted features requires an eligible plan.
Downgrading or cancelling your subscription does not automatically remove stored data and does not by itself entitle you to a refund apart from what is described in our Refund Policy or required under applicable law.
Users may export certain data from the Service. Export functionality may be limited to specific formats or datasets.
Account and data deletion requests are processed through controlled workflows and may be subject to verification, processing time, and legal retention requirements.
We may suspend or terminate access if:
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available."
We do not guarantee:
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:
These Terms are governed by the laws of Saint Lucia.
All disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Saint Lucia.

This Privacy Policy explains how Solèy Technologies Ltd. collects, uses, and protects personal data in connection with the Kontab Service.
Depending on how you use Kontab, we may process the following categories of information:
Kontab does not directly store full payment card details (such as complete card numbers, CVV, or full magnetic stripe equivalent data) on its own systems. Payment information is collected and processed by Paddle or another authorized payment provider, which receives payment details directly from you or your bank/card network as part of checkout.
Kontab receives confirmation of payment status, subscription identifiers, and related billing metadata from the payment provider as needed to operate accounts and entitlements. The payment provider's use of payment data is governed by its own terms and privacy notice.
You retain ownership of your business records and content. Kontab processes that information only to provide and improve the Service, as described in this Policy, and does not acquire ownership of your underlying accounting or financial records.

Data is shared only as necessary to provide the Service.
Certain features may process user-submitted content using AI systems (including cloud APIs such as Anthropic's Claude) to provide functionality you request—for example, in-app assistance or document-oriented workflows where those features are available and enabled for your account.
Data is used to deliver the requested features in accordance with this Policy.
Outputs are generated automatically and should not be relied upon as professional, tax, or legal advice.
We may generate aggregated, de-identified statistical information for analytical purposes.
Such data:
We implement safeguards including:
No system is completely secure.
We retain data for as long as needed to provide the Service and for legitimate business and legal purposes.
Cancelling a subscription does not automatically delete your business accounting data. Access to paid features may end in line with your plan, but records may remain in the Service until you take further action or submit a request consistent with our processes.
You may request deletion or export of your data where applicable. Deletion requests are handled through Support and controlled workflows (for example via the contact details at the end of this Policy). We may retain certain information where required for legal, regulatory, tax, or accounting retention obligations, or where necessary to resolve disputes and enforce our agreements—even after a deletion request—only to the extent permitted by law.
Deletion may not result in immediate removal of all copies (for example, backups or logs), and some data may persist for a limited period consistent with our security and operations practices.

This Refund Policy governs subscription payments for Kontab ("the Service"), operated by Solèy Technologies Ltd., a company incorporated in Saint Lucia with its principal place of business at Cas En Bas, Gros Islet, Saint Lucia.
By subscribing to the Service, users agree to the terms set out below.
Kontab is a subscription-based software service provided on a recurring billing basis. Access to the Service is granted for the duration of the applicable monthly billing period, subject to payment of the relevant subscription fees.
Where offered, Kontab provides a free trial period of 30 days from the date of account creation to allow users to evaluate the Service prior to purchasing a paid plan.
No payment method is required to start the trial, and no subscription charges are applied during the trial solely because you created an account.
The free trial does not automatically convert to a paid subscription. To access a paid plan after your trial, you must select a plan and complete checkout. If you do not upgrade, your account moves to Free Forever at trial end.
Paid charges apply only after you explicitly choose a paid plan and complete the applicable checkout or confirmation step presented at that time.
Nothing in this Policy limits mandatory statutory rights that apply to you. Where those rights apply, they prevail.
Customers may request a full refund within 14 days of the initial purchase or renewal.
Email support@kontab.net with your account email and the date of the charge. Payments are processed by Paddle, our Merchant of Record. Refunds are returned to the original payment method through Paddle.
After the 14-day refund window, subscription payments are non-refundable except where required by applicable law or Paddle's Buyer Terms. Billing errors and duplicate charges will be corrected in accordance with Paddle's Buyer Terms and applicable law.
Cancelling a subscription stops future billing. Cancellation does not automatically result in a pro-rated refund for the remaining part of the billing period.
Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period unless your payment provider's process or applicable law provides otherwise. Paid access continues until the end of that period.
You remain responsible for charges already incurred for the current period unless a refund is required by applicable law or issued under this Policy or Paddle's Buyer Terms.
Subscriptions are cancelled through the flows available in your account or billing portal (including any provider-managed portal where applicable).
Upon cancellation of a paid subscription:
Contact support@kontab.net before disputing a charge with your bank. Billing concerns are resolved as quickly as possible. Where a dispute involves suspected fraud or abuse, access may be reviewed in accordance with Paddle's Buyer Terms and applicable law.
Solèy Technologies Ltd. reserves the right to modify this Refund Policy at any time. Changes will be communicated to subscribers via email at least 14 days before taking effect. Material changes will be communicated to subscribers before taking effect, where required by law.
Nothing in this Policy limits any rights that may be available to consumers under applicable laws of Saint Lucia, including rights relating to unfair practices, misrepresentation, or failure of the Service to perform as reasonably expected.
This Refund Policy is governed by the laws of Saint Lucia, without regard to conflict-of-law principles that would apply another jurisdiction's laws, except where mandatory consumer protections in your location cannot be waived.
